Our philosophy of care and education is underpinned by the attachment-based Secure Base Model, which has been developed by experts in the field of children and youngsters who have experienced insecure or broken attachments, and likely, multiple placements (Gillian Schofield & Mary Beek, University of East Anglia).

To this end 'attachment' is at the forefront of our thinking, right from receipt of your valued referral.
We aim to make the process of referrals as smooth and straightforward as possible. We work sensitively with everyone involved, ensuring that, prior to placement, during transition and once established at The Ryes, all parties feel supported, listened to and that their individual needs have been met.

We do not wish to perpetuate a cycle of rejection and therefore we emphasise great value in information gathering processes to hypothesise an understanding of the young person’s needs before progressing a formal assessment involving the YP.

Our process of consideration is as follows:

Special Educational Needs, EBD,ASD,Childrens Home, children in care, special needs school, Essex School, Suffolk School,Emotional Behavioural Disorder, ADHD, Aspergers, looked after children, Ryes, Ryes School, Ryes College, Rise School, Rise College
