Education in Norfolk

Teaching and Learning

Well planned and well implemented learning both inside and outside the classroom is a key factor in how we provide effective learning experiences at our school.

We are based in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the North Norfolk Coast, and within 5 miles of the school are a range of beaches for us to go fossil hunting, rock pooling, sea dipping or to use for other curriculum activities led by Beach School trained staff.

We work in partnership with the National Trust and use their Forest School facilities at Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park, as well as Norfolk Wildlife Trust who have fieldwork centres along the coast.

Within easy reach of the school are also cultural learning opportunities at Sandringham, Norwich Castle and Peterborough Mosque.

Ofsted recognise that learning opportunities outside the classroom benefit the health and well being, personal development, cultural engagement and social mobility of pupils and we believe that offering children the opportunity to spend time learning outside, re-engaging with their natural environment and learning how to take risks in a safe way help them to become happy, healthy, well rounded adults.
