Qualifications and Accreditation

We are registered with a number of qualification providers to ensure that a suitable qualification matching a pupil’s learning style and ability can be achieved. All pupils will study for one or more of the following qualifications in each subject;

  • English – Asdan Award, Function Skills E1/E2/E3/L1/L2, GCSE

  • Maths – Asdan Award, Functional Skills E1/E2/E3/L1/L2. GCSE

  • STEM – Crest Awards (Bronze, Silver, Gold)

  • PSHE – Asdan Award

  • Independent Living Skills – Asdan Award

All pupils in Y10 & Y11 will have the opportunity to work towards achieving their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. Pupils in Years 7-9 can choose to work towards a similar qualification known as the Gateway Award.

Pupils with an interest in the Arts can study for the Trinity Education Arts Award. Further qualifications are available in individual academic and vocational subjects at Asdan, GCSE or AQA Unit Award level.

We have no formal assessment points for these qualifications to be taken. For example, if a learner is ready to achieve an Entry Level 3 in English during Year 9, then they will be offered the opportunity to do so. This approach maximises the number of qualifications a Young Person can achieve.
