WELCOME TO THE RYES
Ryes Education and Childrens Homes is a therapeutic specialist provider of Care and Education to children and young people whose needs range from ASC, EBD, LD through to Challenging Behaviour and other complex needs. We have homes and schools in both Suffolk and Norfolk

We welcome both residential and day placements and pride ourselves on our ability to 'reach' the child and build mutually trusting relationships, which enables young people to find new ways to express themselves and be heard.   As an organisation we use the Secure Base Model (developed by Gillian Schofield & Mary Beek, University of East Anglia) underpinned by attachment theory to provide a framework for caregiving and education.

We welcome young people from all parts of the UK and pride ourselves on providing 4 safe, nurturing homes for our young people to live, if needed.

We also provide good quality education in bespoke environments for day pupils who live more locally around the Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex areas, and those that need 38 week placements. Referrals are made predominantly from Local Authorities and other external stakeholders. We always welcome visits and are happy to answer any queries. Please contact us for more information

If you feel you have something you would like to discuss directly with me please do not hesitate to contact me via our main switchboard or by completing this enquiry form. Thank you

Year 11 Trip to Climb Snowdon. July 19

We are excited to be working in partnership with Suffolk County Council Staying Close Scheme, supporting children to move on successfully and sustainably before their 18th birthday

We are proud to work in an environment that:
  • Promotes equality,
  • Hears the voice of our young people as equals,
  • Believes in the value of group belonging -building strength,  knowledge, responsibility, tolerance  and acceptance,
  • Advocates transparency so we may learn from our mistakes through reflective thinking.

In July a group of year 11 Pupils went to climb Snowdon.

Here we are reviewing the route

A third of the way up!

Everyone felt proud of their achievement. The group returned to the hostel for refreshments and a rest.

YPs and staff helped to prepare the food for the barbecue and then everything needed was carried down to the river opposite the Hostel. It was a lovely sunny evening and the YPs had fun skimming stones and looking for fish
